Meeting baby Noah…
We left Chesapeake on Sunday afternoon and headed for Doug’s house with a trunk full of groceries. I had promised Doug that I would gift them some meals for their freezer and cook them dinner (always a favorite new-parent gift). I finally finished knitting Noah’s gifts (knitted cotton pants and a hat and personalized onsies), unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, so hopefully Doug will amuse me a take a pic when they try it on him.
When we arrived I gave some hugs and kisses and went straight to work! On the menu was a big pot of gravy (the red kind for those of you who might be wondering), sausage and pork and a big batch of meatballs. The plan was to make lasagna for dinner as well as two smaller lasagnas for their freezer, a bunch of pre-cooked meatballs that they’d be able to use as needed and a couple of containers of tomato sauce. Did I get it done? Yup, success!! I’m pretty sure they were happy too.
Francesca loved how tiny Noah was. She wanted to lay down next to him any chance she got. The boys were excited to meet their very first cousin and giggled at his little hands and feet and how soft he is. I was pretty excited to get a little practice photographing a newborn with my camera. I didn’t get many shots but I like the few I caught.
By Monday afternoon my kids were ready to be home so we headed out. They were really good all weekend, but they needed a chance to roam around and jump off some furniture to get some energy out and they just can’t do that anywhere but home without giving someone a nervous breakdown. Hopefully the next long weekend trip we make will be better weather so they can get out and play a little.
